9/11 Tribute Show  

Blogtalkradio, The BlueDoodle and the creator of the 2996 project, sponsored a day of reading of writings and poetry dedicated to the memory of 9/11.

We, here at BlogTalkRadio, in conjunction with The Blue Doodle, the 2,996 Project, and many incredible individuals, are hosting a very special tribute Monday evening in honor of the heroes and victims of September 11, 2001.

We will have several volunteer readers between the hours of 7PM and 10PM reading tributes, poetry, and first person accounts. We invite you to listen and will make time throughout the event to take live incoming callers so you can share your own stories, comments, and tributes.

WOW what a week it has been, a flurry of activity from all over the country trying to pull this show together.  Its something that has touched the people at Blog Talk Radio, Alan, Bob, Jaime, and I, Amy very deeply, I know Alan lives in Jersey and is just 10 miles from Manhattan and watched as his neighbors had to walk home that day, the emotion and sadness as people made their way back home on foot.

I myself grew up 13 miles outside of the city and had many relatives working in NYC, the panic we all felt till people were accounted for was indescribable.
My husbands best friend's brother had made his way down 34 flights and walked home to Greenwich Ct.  He arrived home around midnight, and their were tears of sadness and joy the moment he came home.  It was a bittersweet moment.  So sad for everyone who did not make it home, and there were many.

That is what this show is going to be all about, paying tribute to the men and woman, who did not make it home to their families that day.  We will forever remember, and as long as people like the people at Blog Talk Radio bring these tributes to the world, we will never forget.

The response has been wonderful and so far the lineup of hosts is pretty extensive, and the outpouring of people to call in and read their own tributes has been fantastic.

Poets, bloggers, spoken word artists, and writers spent countless hours putting together some of the finest written tributes. 

We will bring everyone together on 9/11 starting at 7 pm to honor the people of 9/11

How excited are we at The Blue Doodle to be able to participate in hosting a 9-11 tribute show for Alan Levy and Blog Talk Radio.

Some of the writers from Thebluedoodle.com are part of a huge undertaking by Dale Roe, a blogger who decided to organize 2996 writers to pay tribute in a blog to each person who perished on that fateful day.

Dale Roe will join us in an interview and read his tribute, along with many others who participated in the project.

Also joining us to help host the show is Author Corey Freidman, and actor, writer, and written word artist Lamont Carey.  Lamont can be seen on HBO's the wire this fall.

Amy Domestico the owner of The Blue Doodle will also be cohosting.

Alan Levy the man behind the Tribute Show idea will also be on for a segement.
