Shelly Bell poetically known as She Seven is a Single Parent, Teacher, Author, and Poet amongst other things. Rebelling against a strict "religious" mother lead to teenage pregnancy, forcing her to grow up quick, but bringing new focus to her life.

The same parent she rebelled against is the same parent that she credits for her success, pushing Shelly to graduate from North Carolina A&T State University with a BS in Computer Science in 4 years. After college she began teaching middle school in Charlotte, NC figuring it would be a short term position until she found a corporate job. This is when she realized that her calling was something bigger than programming computers. She fell in love with working with the community.

While Shelly was finding her niche professionally, personally she was in a constant relationship drama. It took her three years to free her mind from love's web of confusion leading her to publish her first novel "All Women are Stupid Sometimes." This novel speaks volumes toward the internal damages one can suffer due to relationships issues.

Relocating to the DC, MD, VA area, Shelly attempted a new beginning. By the year 2007 she was a single parent of two balancing life and work. Now teaching in the Northern VA area, she found an avenue for release in writing then reading pieces of her work on blog talk radio.Shelly was inspired to begin her own radio show October 2009 which has been very successful. Also in October Shelly had her first open mic appearance at Bus Boys & Poets in Shirlington, VA.

Shelly Bell began to morph into She Seven, continuing to speak on as many open mics as she can spreading practical positive eye-opening messages. She is not only a spoken word artist, but a community leader, volunteer, mentor, author, and according to her "whatever I think I can be when I wake up." She Seven is dedicated to motivating and inspiring those around her.
