He's an artist and illustrator who designed props and weapons for Star Trek 2009, Among the props he designed for the film was the new tricorder, was also a technical adviser on the film. Brode has worked with property master Russell Bobbitt as a prop illustrator on such films as Planet of the Apes (2001), Starsky & Hutch (2004), and Iron Man (2008).
