Many of us have been the victims of psychological projection and suffered deeply over its painful effects. Projection is used as a form of self-defense where some people push their insecure and angry feelings onto another person. They are unable to face their own demons honestly so they project their problems onto someone else by telling them everything is their fault. It can sound like this: “It is all your fault that I had to struggle in my life!” or “Nobody here likes you either. They all agree with me!” They are effective at gang warfare and turning the opinions of others against you. This emboldens them and they feel victorious.

This awful behavior is common in people with low self-esteem. To elevate their sense of self, they often ridicule and demean other people. It's also common in narcissists who suffer from the incessant need to be right, and are unable to accept blame for anything. Psychological projection can be deeply harmful and victims begin to believe they are failures and not good enough. They often develop self-esteem issues of their own, repeating the cycle of abuse and harming others.

Listen to this program of Running on Love with GOD as we discuss this dysfunctional behavior and how to overcome it. How do we spot projection? Are all the accusations false? What can you do to shield yourself? How do you respond to constant recriminations and false accusations? What do you do if you suffer from self-esteem issues because of this abuse? It is important to understand the source of these problems, how they manifest and work to heal them.

Listen, Learn and Work for Peace. May there be world peace in our time.
