My special is guest is author, Karen Ritchie M.D., her book is Angels and Bolters.  Angels and Bolters is filled with heartfelt stories from cancer patients..  

When you are diagnosed with cancer, strange things happen to other people. Bolters are friends who disappear. Preachers tell you what to eat, how to think, and even what to feel. Angels know what you need and how to listen; their presence is their gift.

About the author:  Karen Ritchie, M.D. is a psychiatrist and bioethicist, former Chief of Psychiatry at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. She graduated from Graceland College and from Ohio State University School of Medicine and received a Masters' degree in philosophy/bioethics from Georgetown University.
