"The Have and Have Nots" Angela Robinson/Alisha Broughton

Angela is a native of Jacksonville, Florida, but after living in the New York–New Jersey area for so long, she considers herself a bona fide New Yorker. She is a graduate of Florida A&M University and the William Esper Studio. She has spent almost 18 years on regional theater and national tour stages throughout the country. She played the role of Shug Avery in The Color Purple on Broadway and on tour. Other Broadway credits include: Wonderful Town, Play On! and Bells Are Ringing. Angela and her husband, Scott Whitehurst, founded the WhiteRobin Group, a consulting firm for young artists. On television, she could last be seen on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

As a renowned public speaker, author, and television BET (2006) commercial personality, Alisha Broughton has risen to national prominence by delivering a high energy message which tells people how to shake off mediocrity and live up to their greatness. It is a message Alisha Broughton has learned from her own life and one she is helping others.
