Today's guest is: Pierre Schantz!
Student Director Pierre Schantz Biography: I am a self-taught, 12 year old animator. I started making films when I was 9 years old. I have always liked photography and Legos, but then I discovered stop-motion animation, and liked that even better! My 4th grade teacher sparked my interest when he showed our class a simple, 15 second animation clip. The same day, I came home and found iMovie on my mom's laptop. I am completely self-taught. I figured out how to add pictures, text, music, sound effects, and voiceovers. I practiced editing short pieces, and made 3 book report films. I also made one documentary. At 10 years old, I wrote and created my first animation, “Small vs. Big.” Then, at 11 years, I wrote and filmed, “Parkour Race.” I just completed my newest animation, “Mr. McBob,” which is a true story about my 4th grade teacher and how he inspired me to begin making films. I just received the news that “Mr. McBob” will be premiering at the Irvine International Film Festival on January 11, 2014!
