Susan Omilian presents at conferences, now also does ZOOM trainings, and podcast interivews. She is a veteran speaker. She has worked for the last 40 years to end violence against women numerous ways.
Here is what and how her life changed to focus on women of abuse.
Susan Omilian is an author, motivational speaker and attorney who, after a personal family tragedy, changed her life course to help women reclaim their lives and find the life of their dreams after abuse. With the death of my nineteen-year-old niece Maggie in 1999 killed by her ex-boyfriend, Susan vowed to help victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse take the journey from victim to survivor to thriver as Maggie could not. Susan has developed a unique motivational model based on the idea that “living well is the best revenge” and she can talk about how she has successfully it used with hundreds of survivors, building a community of women who are “thriving” after violence and trauma. With the publication of her award-winning self-help trilogy of Thriver Zone books, Susan is a recognized national expert on the process of recovery after violence, abuse and trauma. Also since Maggie’s death, Susan has facilitated groups with male domestic violence offenders and presented her work before both male and female inmate audiences about the hope and possibility of their lives going forward.
