Koran Dunbar is a funny guy, evident from his comedy turns on nationwide TV (Late Night with Conan O’Brien, Real World 20, MTV Beach House, etc), and infamous comedy venues (Hollywood’s HaHa Café). So his latest project, the film “Greencastle,” might take some by surprise. Produced through his production company (From Rags 2 Riches), “Greencastle” is an up-close look at Dunbar’s own life and the challenges he faced in becoming the man he is today. It is the real portrayal of a single African American father’s quest to provide for his son - a role played by his real-life son - in a small rural setting.

Dunbar will discuss his past and what led to his being raised in a predominantly White community, and the issues that were raised growing up as a Black man in that community. He will also address  the state of Black filmmakers and actors in film.

Join us on Monday, May 14th at 7pm EST when we discuss Dunbar’s rise from homelessness to comedy, and how he packaged it all in a great film called “Greencastle.”
