There’s something special about church friends, a Gallup forum revealed in February 2012.  Regular churchgoers – regardless of whether they believe in God or sing the hymns – experience happiness and well-being, particularly when they have close friends in their church environment.

Churches can provide a great sense of community.

But what happens when you leave the church, like so many people are doing?

Whether you remain a person of faith, consider yourself “spiritual but not religious,” or have given up a belief in deities altogether, the lack of a sense of community can be profound.

A sterling panel of guests, who have all had formal religious training and/or were pastors who walked away from the church, will share their insight, including:

  • BECKY GARRISON religion writer, storyteller and satirist.
  • DAVID HAYWARD – graffiti artist on the walls of religion.
  • JOAN SLISH – Military Religious Freedom Foundation advisory board member.
  • KIMBERLY VEAL – Former minster; Black Freethinkers.

Due to space limits here, please visit our official show page for bios and links.

In the 3rd hour, we'll look at charities and have a bit of irreverent fun in our new game show.  Add'l guests include Joe Zamecki and Vicki Gettman of Atheists Helping the Homeless.
