Welcome to a BONUS episode of Booze and Phasers! We'll call this one, episode 6 though because we like things in perfect numerical order. Speaking of numerical order, it's almost time for the third installment of the Abrams-verse Star Trek films! In honor of the premiere on July 22nd, we are dissecting The Kelvin Timeline with our special guest, Mike McCafferty. Mike is an actor, comedian and hosts his own kick ass podcast aptly called "I just want to talk about Star Trek" on Feral Audio. In his show, he mixes facts with absurd comedy in his quest to talk about all things Trek, making him a perfect guest for our show.

Mike and Audrey go toe-to-toe in nerd knowledge while Claudia and Heather get wasted. Er, contribute meaningful dialogue. Anyway, we share our expectations for Star Trek Beyond, Simon Pegg's writing, and talk about how underutilized Zoe Saldana has been so far. Give the girl a story line with some juicy dialogue please!

Plus we deep dive into the decision to make Sulu gay in the Kelvin Timeline and George Takei's reaction. Interestingly, the B&P jury was split on this news. And we break down the new fan rules set forth from the powers that be regarding all future Trek fan films. Have you read the rules? Will you still make a fan film? Will you put us in it? Awww, thanks friends :)

Here are the links to our topics so you can get all the info as well. Plus, we added a post that just came out yesterday (after recording) with another Simon Pegg response to the Sulu controversy!
