Felix shares: "I started in archery about 6 years ago when my son wanted to go hunt for deer. I decided to started to learn about the sport and the art of archery with him. Soon, I discovered that I was more interested and passionate than he was! I had found a connection that was more profound and that I could connect with God more in depth. There is nothing more relaxing and calming than shooting a perfect arrow through a bow and hitting the X spot or 10, but most of the times I find that in my life as a christian I miss the mark or the X spot and that spot is God! Like most who get caught up in middle of things and lose focus on what's more important which is keeping our focus on JESUS!

The reason I compete is because, truly believe God has put it in my heart & my love for Archery. I also wanted to become a true bow hunting athlete. What I mean by athlete.... I find archery and hiking/running extreme long distances makes you very humble. It helps me connect more with God's nature and understanding God's creation.

When I made the decision to starting to train I found this scripture that summed it up for me which is Proverbs 12:1
"Whoever Loves discipline, loves knowledge, but whoever hates correction is stupid." (Stupid is translated for Brutish).
This scripture ties to a lot of stuff that has happened in my life as Christian. It really comes down to the matter of obedience and how hard it is to be obedient to God, the focus that I mention before."
