The Bay AIDS Services and Information Coalition of Northwest Florida, Incorporated (BASIC NWFL) is a volunteer governed, community based organization aiding, assisting, and comforting those living with HIV/AIDS, their families and friends, and providing awareness, education and prevention information to the citizens of Bay, Calhoun, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, and Washington counties. The Education and Prevention Department provides prevention and educational services to residents of the area, especially to those most at risk of contracting HIV or other sexually transmissible diseases. Free confidential oral HIV-antibody testing, rapid oral HIV-antibody testing using oraQuick Advance, and pre- and post-test counseling are available. BASIC NWFL is one of many local enrollment sites for the AIDS Insurance Continuation Program (AICP) offered by the Health Council of South Florida. BASIC NWFL is a United Way Charity with identification numbers of 7075(Bay), 1075(Calhoun), 6075(Gulf), 8075(Holmes), 4075(Jackson) and 5075(Washington). BASIC NWFL is also part of the CFC (Combined Federal Campaign) and the identification number is 58826.
