SoulSistas "Live" Talk-Radio Show Temporarily "Under Construction"

    Greetings All…

Summer finally arrived and there is a lot of hustle and bustle in the air.  I am hoping that each one of you is enjoying the warm weather and finding ways to get the best out of life and each day that comes your way.

As you may recall, SoulSistas “Live” became a reality in June 2008, and we have been crafting out what we hope have proven to be enlightening, interesting, empowering and down right fun segments.  We have grown in many wonderful ways and are excited about what the future holds for us.

During the June show, I announced that we are getting ready to make some changes…all for the good, of course, and would be providing updates for you as we do just that.  The plan is to totally revamp the show, add a host of diverse guests and topics, add in some ‘live’ segments, and give you another ‘special’ feature that is sure to enhance the total experience.

In order to accomplish all we set out to do, we find it best to give SoulSistas “Live” a short ‘vacation’ so that we can effectively implement those changes and add programming that is sure to excite and engage.

We have great goals and expectations, but in order to make them a reality, work needs to be done, so we are going to roll up our sleeves and make them happen.

When we turn on the light switch in the very near future…we promise to bring you a wholesome and fulfilling experience.

As always, we truly appreciate your continuous support over the past year and it is because of your loyalty that we want to do all we can to offer you an extraordinary broadcast experience.  Please stay tuned and don't veer off too far…we’ll be back shortly!!

    With much love and appreciation!

    Your Host…Flavr

Get Ready for Part II of Our Advocacy Roundtable Discussion

Audre Lorde, in The Transformation of Silence into Language and Action" from her book Sister Outsider, wrote "Your silence will not protect you. I am not only a casualty, I am also a warrior." These words highlight the importance of our dialogue about the work that has and continues to be done on behalf of the LGBT same-gender loving community - specifically with womyn of color. SoulSistas "Live" is featuring panel discussions with the advocates and activists whose voices cannot and will not be silenced. April’s show was very enlightening, informative and empowering, and we are equally excited about our Part II segment scheduled for Wednesday, May 6th at 7:00 PM (EST). During this show, we will have another powerful discussion with our panel, which includes Francine Ramsey, Executive Director of the Zuna Institute, D. Magrini, Director of Health Education & Rachelle Dixon, Health Edu Associate & Information Designer of the Mautner Project, and Mandy Carter, Activist. I am also excited that our very own Virginia Adams (LuvleLady), Sistahs, Inc. Administrator, will be joining us as well, so be sure to mark May 6th on your calendar and tune into our show. You can kick it with us live by dialing 646/478-3929 or hit us up in the chat room at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/SoulSistas-of-Sappho We look forward to having you join us and please spread the word to your contacts and friends...this is a show you don't want to miss!!
