After an end of the semester hiatus, we're back with a show talking about the current situation with Men's and Women's intercollegiate basketball at Minneapolis Community and Technical College. As some of you may know, funding to support the campus' basketball program has been supplied by the Student Life budget. And, this spring, the Student Life Budget Committee voted to cut all funding for intercollegiate basketball at MCTC. This comes right after the Men's team went to the national championship and came in 2nd place, and Coach Jay Pivec won the national coach of the year title for our division. Why defund a highly successful program, where roughly 2/3 of students go on to complete a 4-year degree? Librarians will talk about this situation, and more, today.
