'Topics with Trish' - Tuesday, Feb 7, 2017 - 4pm central time - Call me live at 929-477-2779; What worries you most about keeping your kids out of danger and focused in the right direction? I'm sure every parent and grandparent has some thoughts on today's topics. 

We all have heard the importance of a parent/child relationship, a bond so they tell you everything; right? If you seriously believe that your teen/pre-teen is going to come to you about every challenge or dare they are given by another child, or perhaps about exactly what happened at 'Josie's' party, the time another passed them a joint, or maybe offered them some pills, even scarier the 'invader' talking to them online about a 'relationship'? YOUR KIDS WILL LIKELY NOT TELL YOU THESE THINGS UNTIL THEY ARE ABOUT 30 YEARS OLD. Kids keep secrets for each other and kids most definitely will lie. How openly do you give your kids the information that will keep them focused and ensure them just how dangerous some of these dares and secrets might be? I believe this is what holds the key to their safety. Be open and honest; much the same as telling them about their monthly period, development of hair in private places, and developing sexual interest.
