Tonight on 'Its a Family Affair' we welcome a special co-host, my dear friend Author/Advocate/Researcher; Ms. Lynn Tolson. Our hot topic for the evening, discussing the homes of family violence and the Pet Abuse which so often occurs.

There are many of us who come from a violent home life who also remember having at least one family pet during our childhood. Was that pet ever abused or neglected? Most of you would probably answer yes and may even remember a pet being killed by your family dominator or abuser.

For us to create change in our society we must begin to see the link between the history of our human society and how it has all cycled through to the tragedies we hear about on the news everyday. We hear of animals being rescued from horrid homes and cages. We hear about children being raped, murdered, molested by strangers and thankfully, some are beginning to share more reports about family abusers as well.

According to a report from the ASPCA it is all connected and tonight we will discuss the many of us who remember the violent homes or relationships we've endured and how our dominator or abuser also directly harmed or made threats to murder the family pet or the livestock on the family farm. It is a fact that 85.4% of women & 63% of children have reported some type of pet cruelty within the family home. Does this spark enough concern to rally together and realize when there is a pet or animal being harmed in a home we also need to look at the human victims.

Our show starts at 9pm e.s.t., we welcome your calls & chatroom commentary. Join us & invite your friends. Thank you
