‘True Jackson’ Star Matt Shively:
I’m Afraid of Keke Palmer’s Driving

The State of California may have had enough confidence in Keke Palmer to grant her a learner’s permit, but don’t expect Matt Shively to be riding with her any time soon. Interviewed on WZAP Radio, Matt reveals his true feelings about his True Jackson, VP co-star, who plays the title role that hit Nick sitcom – and who won’t turn 16 until August.

“We have carts – like golf carts – on the set. So when we need to go to the production office or anything, we take the cart over there,” Matt, 18, tells host Zachary Sang. “And I remember I came to work one day and I went to drive it and it was broken. Like one of the wheels had – I can’t remember if it was popped, or the axel was twisted around – and I was like, ‘What happened with the cart?’ And they’re like, ‘Oh, ah, Keke ran into a curb.’ And I was like, ‘OK.’ So I think would take a chance and I would get in a car with her. But I can’t say wouldn’t be afraid the entire time.

Matt also dishes about his love life, his weight concerns and whether he’d ever consider hooking up with Keke. “I’m not in a relationship. I can’t say I wouldn’t want to be, because now that I have three months off [for summer hiatus], being in a relationship would be great,” he tells us. “But it’s really hard to find ‘the right person’ out here. It’s just really hard to find a good girl who wants to be in a relationship with you.”
