I first heard Amir speak at the Astrological Society of Princeton and was intrigued with his topic. I am pleased to have him on the show. This is what the ASP said to describe his work; “Renowned New York astrologer and artist Amir Bey will present a lecture on "Egypt's Cosmic Religion." Elements of the cosmology of the ancient Egyptians' religion significantly informed the structure of Western astrology. Egypt had coinciding cycles between its geography, weather, the Nile River and the risings and settings of stellar bodies; understanding and predicting their confluences developed spiritual and scientific methods that were later amalgamized with Mesopotamian and Hellenistic concepts. Egypt had a history of celestial observation for millennia, from the predynastic era through its dynastic period. Its religion and its science are revealed in the tombs, papyri, and the temples that remain. Amir will discuss how Egypt's stellar and terrestrial cycles contributed to the concepts of ascending signs and houses, through their deification of stars and other practices that they developed.” * "The Ancient Egyptian Foundations of Western Astrology" ( http://thenewtimesholler.com/ARCHIVE/archiveDisplay.php?ID=26 ) * "Eclipses Over Egypt" ( http://thenewtimesholler.com/ARCHIVE/archiveDisplay.php?ID=24 ) * "The Cosmic Religion of the Egyptians" ( http://thenewtimesholler.com/ARCHIVE/egypcosm.html )
