On the fast track to stardom, Whitney Peyton is a young, female pop-rapper from the suburbs of Philly, PA. Beginning close to home and expanding throughout the Country, she has used her stage presence to capture a diverse fan base leading to becoming the top voted unsigned artist in her home state on MTV 2’s “On The Rise” contest. Proving her work ethic and determination, Whitney has worked with an array of established artists and producers. Starting at a very young age, Whitney’s impressive performance skills, won numerous talent competitions at local clubs. Her modern mixture of pop hooks and relatable mainstream rap verses make for a refreshing new genre she likes to call “Sub-urban Pop”. Equipped with a unique image, not usually associated with rap music, she has been interviewed, mentioned or played on various Philadelphia radio stations and regional college stations. Her media coverage doesn’t stop there, VH1 caught notice of her distinctive style, and personally invited Whitney to be a special guest at 2009’s Hip Hop Honors, held in Brooklyn, NY. In 2010, Whitney was chosen to be one of the faces of Philadelphia’s “Unlitter Us” Campaign. In commercials airing city-wide on network TV, Whitney uses her rap ability in a spoken word poem she wrote about cleaning up the city streets. She is also featured in print and transportation ads, in addition to appearing along side Mayor Nutter at anti-litter rallies, and community events.
