Welcome to today's broadcast.
In this segment of About the Books the former editor-in-chief of PW--Sara Nelson--returns as a guest on the show.

After her tenure at PW, she was the book editor at the Hearst-run O, The Oprah Magazine. In June 2012, she was appointed to a position with a very recognizable Seattle company. Based out of New York, now Sara Nelson is the editorial director, Amazon.com Books. We are delighted to have her on the show to discuss her ideas for expanding Amazon's horizons and to discuss her avid-reader profile, her life in New York City, and her college-age son's remarkable launch toward making her an even prouder parent.

Recent guests on the WordSmitten About the Books broadcast include Pulitzer Prize-winning authors Paul Harding (Tinkers), Jane Smiley (A Thousand Acres), Elizabeth Strout (Olive Kitteridge), and Edward P. Jones (The Known World).
