Tune in to the fun. Listen Sunday afternoons to the WordSmitten "About the Books" broadcast.

From the shadow of Greek mythology bursts a profoundly enlightening debut novel by Madeline Miller, who touches on the topics of love between men, of courage from the quietly tempered, and of the burdens of legacy. In her debut novel, Madeline Miller takes on the arcane, the myth, and the wit of ancient Greek myths. In this segment, Kate Sullivan interviews Miller who credits her students with fleshing out this modern day blending of mythological characters. Miller is the winner of the British-based Orange Prize for Fiction.

Recent guests include Pulitzer Prize-winning authors Jane Smiley, Elizabeth Strout, and Edward P. Jones.

Debut novelists Leslie Daniels (Cleaning Nabokov's House), Maggie Pouncey (Perfect Reader), Andrew Trees (Club Rules), Nancy Horan (Loving Frank), and National Book Award honorees appear to discuss the launch of their new novels and short story collections.

Interested in novels, short stories, and non-fiction books? WordSmitten's host, Kate Sullivan, interviews notable authors, editors, literary agents, and publishing executives.
