Join Dr. Cheryl Cottle and Dr. Sylvia LaFair on Women in Business Radio where they will be talking about a new leadership model that women leaders should adopt to make them more effective. Dr. Sylvia LaFair was on Women in Business Radio some time ago where she spoke about Women Leadership and the Roles it plays on Entrepreneurship and the Importance of a Business Coach in the Life of a Business Woman. Today will be a continuation of that discussion

Dr. LaFair believes that the behaviour that we learn in childhood are the same ones we take into our adult life in every situation; and they are not necessarily behaviours that makes us effective and successful. She works with both women and men to develop leadership skills so that they can make a difference in the lives of people that they work with. She sees male and female leadership behaviour within the framework of "Caring and Daring" and that leadership is situated culturally, historically, and biologically.

She suggests that women are socialized to be care -givers, while men culturally and historically were the hunters and food gatherers; and thus were socialized to be "daring." She therefore suggests or postulates that in today's society there should be a blended - approach that integrate both "caring -and -daring" approach to leadership; a combinational approach is the new direction of leadership.
