In celebration of Black History Month, we invite Dr. Kenvi Phillips of Howard University's Moorland Spingarm Research Center and Co-author of The True Worth of A Race: African American Women and the Struggle for Freedom, recently released in October 2013, by the Association of Black Women Historians (ABWH), to sit down with Wombanist Views.

Dr. Phillips joins us to discuss the anthology, which was released to turn an eye to the contribution of African American women in the struggle for freedom,  on the 150th Anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation and the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington.
