Guest - Laura Dresser, PhD, Associate Director, Center on Wisconsin Strategy

Wisconsin is in the middle of a jobs drought. Recent data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, while disputed by the Walker Administration, shows Wisconsin far behind the rest of the nation in job creation - the cornerstone of the Walker campaign.

Professor Laura Dresser will join us to discuss the big picture this data paints; as well as policy implications and the regional/national influence on these numbers.

From the Center On Wisconsin Strategy (COWS) website:

COWS is a nonprofit think-and-do tank that promotes "high road" solutions to social problems. These treat shared growth and opportunity, environmental sustainability, and resilient democratic institutions as necessary and achievable complements in human development.

COWS is based at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, famous for the “Wisconsin Idea” that the University should improve people's lives beyond the classroom. Since its founding 18 years ago, COWS has often been called “the Wisconsin Idea in action.”
