This a replay of the interview with Pat and Christine that originally aired on our 1/13/2013 episode.
Chemical engineer Pat Swords brought a successful complaint to the Aarhus Compliance Committee in Geneva in 2011 and is in the High Court of Ireland today looking for a decision on his case against the Department of Communications, Energy and Natural Resources over the Irish Government’s renewable energy plans. The Aarhus Compliance Committee found that: "By not having properly monitored the implementation by Ireland of article 7 of the Convention in the adoption of Ireland’s NREAP has also failed to comply with article 7 of the Convention."
Christine Metcalfe, a grandmother from Argyll, Scotland has also brought a complaint to Aarhus Comliance Committee with a decision there due in a few months.
