I was born in a little village called Usk and not long afterwards I stopped breathing.  My mother said that every nurse was running around and every mother was looking at the other mother to find out what was all the commotion about?  Then a nurse came up to my mother and said “you’re lucky Mrs. Davies there was a doctor around at the time”.

When I was 2 years old I cracked my head after falling off a high chair, after that I started having epileptic seizures/fits.  I believe that both those instances (joined together) made me an epileptic.

I lived on a farm and worked on a farm my father’s farm.  Dad wanted us both to take over after he had gone – but farming was just not for me, as we were 5 miles from the nearest town, which was Chepstow.  I started writing poetry when I was around 13 and my first poems were actually on Welsh Rugby!
