This is a refreshing and appealing story of friendship and the coming of age it will leave you feeling good.

The story is set in a small town in eastern Arkansas during the Fourth of July holiday of 1967. The book deals with the day to day lives of  three best friends since elementary school, Doris Marie, Lillian and Sheritha. It will show how the closeness of their community helped them to easily navigate their way through the last hours of legalized segregation.

1967 was the year which found thousands of young people converging in San Francisco in the name of 'love, peace, and happiness.' By summer's end, Doris Marie and her friends will have experienced their own coming of age.

This is a refreshing and appealing story that will leave you feeling good!
