Carol Horton
Carol Horton, Ph.D., is the author of Race and the Making of American Liberalism (Oxford University Press, 2005),Yoga Ph.D.: Integrating the Life of the Mind and the Wisdom of the Body (Kleio Books, 2012), and co-editor (with Roseanne Harvey) of 21st Century Yoga: Culture, Politics, and Practice (Kleio Books, 2012). She holds a doctorate in Political Science from the University of Chicago, served on the faculty at Macalester College, and has extensive experience as a research consultant specializing in issues affecting low-income children and families. A Certified Forrest Yoga teacher, Carol teaches yoga to women in Chicago’s Cook County Jail with Yoga for Recovery.
Tara Brach
Tara Brach is a leading western teacher of Buddhist meditation, emotional healing and spiritual awakening. She has practiced and taught meditation for over 35 years, with an emphasis on vipassana (mindfulness or insight) meditation. Tara is the senior teacher and founder of the Insight Meditation Community of Washington.
