Why Hookups Are No Hook Up

Hookups. Sex with no attachments. "Test drive" theory. Many seek the authentic in the inauthentic. But there are no shortcuts to obtaining the authentic relationship. In a "do what makes you feel good" society, how do we help our young people live in sexual faithfulness (purity)? What components led to the 'hookup culture'? Some view sex as a casual act, but it has greater implications than you may understand—because God made it that way—and His purpose in doing so, wasn’t casual, as our society leads many to believe. We'll speak with Bryan A. Sands, campus pastor at Hope International University (Fullerton, CA) and founder of the blog Everyone Loves Sex: So Why Wait?. We will educate, equip and bring truth to deceptions perpetuated by our society regarding sex and hookups. We'll also discuss the science of sex and why bonding (whether we know it or not) occurs between sexual partners.
