Here are some sobering statistics I will discuss with my guest Alison Martin-Books:

  • 57% of women are targeted for workplace bullying.
  • Women make up 51% of the U.S. population but only hold 16% of seats in Congress.
  • Only 2% of women think they’re beautiful.
  • A girl is bullied every 7 minutes on the playground or in the classroom.
  • 90% of women want to change at least one aspect of their physical appearance.

Alison Martin-Books, the founder of the Mentoring Women’s Network, will explain how mentoring women can empower them at work and in school.

The Mentoring Women's Network is a national nonprofit organization that supports mentoring programs for women. In addition, the organization has created a proprietary training and software program to aid in the matching and scheduling of mentors and protégés. Alison is also the author of “Landing on My Feet: Learning to Lead Through Mentoring."
