Taking God and His Gifts For Granted

We have been studying the life of Samson, judge of Israel in the Old Testament, whose life was cut short, and who died before his enemies because he took for granted, the call of God. Samson made the mistake of thinking that the source of his strength was truly in his hair, in his ability to keep the Nazarite vow. But, in reality, the source of his strength was in his ability to obey God. The Lord of Hosts was the source of Samson’s strength, and that strength was given to Samson to accomplish God’s will. When he was out of God's will, his strength eventually failed.
