Remember that tune from the 60’s? Well, we have the voice behind that song this week, Mary Weiss the leader of the pack and the lead singer for one of the most influential girl groups of all time The Shangri-Las. Mary Weiss with her explosive lead voice and The Shangri-Las with the emotion packed stories behind their music gave us tomatoes as teenagers a voice in those tumultuous years. We may not be teenagers anymore but those tunes and the voice of Mary Weiss can still get us rockin’. Woo-Hoo! Mary is back with a new album and she and The Shangri-Las are being inducted into The Long Island Music Hall of Fame. She is with us this Wednesday November 10 to share her journey with the Shangri-Las and what she’s up to now.
