Chag Shavout Sameach! (Happy Feast Of Weeks) or what you know more as Pentecost to our Jewish Friends in Israel and the world! The Feast of Weeks is mentioned in Leviticus 23:16. They counted seven Sabbaths or seven weeks after First fruits. Forty nine days after Israel leaves Egypt, the Jews believe God gave Moses the Torah on Mt. Sinai. The Rabbis also believe an Oral Torah was giving as well and carried by memory for centuries until codified by Rabbi Judah Hanisi in the Galilee. We know 49 days after Jesus ascension to heaven from the Mt. of Olives in Jerusalem, the Ruach HaKodesh, (Hebrew for Holy Spirit) came upon 120 Jews in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost and thus the birth of the church, (Acts 2). The first Christians were Jews. With that said, Chag Shavout Sameach! Join me as I discuss the Feast of Weeks or Pentecost and how these feast will be fulfilled in the future in light of biblical prophecy.
