Today’s episode will focus on the Day of Atonement or Yom Kippur.  What I hope you will find is that Yom Kippur is a day that is used to wipe the slate clean of your past shortcomings.

It can be a day to reflect on your past, repent of failings, and be symbolic of a renewing as referenced in 1Jn 1:9 -10  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

In this episode and the episodes ahead, I hope you will also find that the culture that God introduced to his people in the scriptures was give with wisdom and love and the spirit of the guidance has just has much application and usefulness today as it did in Horeb.  Most of the verses sighted will come from the days of Horeb and Moab, however there will always be a segment that provides guidance as to how the guidance should be interpreted considering the sacrifice the Lord made on the cross.

A modern definition of culture can be defined as an integrated system of learned behavior which are characteristic of the members of a society and which did not come about through biological inheritance.

To me, this definition does a good job of explaining what God has done.  Talmidim should embrace the biblical cultural system that God gave to man.  Because when it is properly applied, the spirit within the system promotes peace.  This is the same culture that Yeshua will use as the foundation of his government during the thousand year reign.

As in the past, we are going to continue to use the show’s namesake to break down the word of God.  This week’s verse is Lev 23:32.

I hope that after another application of the method, you will be well on your way to allowing the word of God to not just enter your mind, but permeate throughout your heart, spirit, and soul.
