Waiakea (waiakeasprings.com) was founded to create positive change for not only the environment, but also for people in need throughout the world.

Waiakea was founded in 2012 as the first Hawaiian Volcanic Water of its kind, and the first premium water to adapt an unparalleled platform of healthy, sustainable, and ethical/charitable attributes and initiatives. Their mission is to sustainably provide naturally healthy, delicious, Waiakea Hawaiian volcanic water while contributing to and promoting clean water access to people in need throughout the world.

In 2013, almost 800 million people lacked access to clean water- that is almost three times the population of the United States alone. It is because of this that every 20 seconds, a child dies from a water-related illness.

In an effort to address this global water crisis, Waiakea donates 650 liters of clean water to people in need in rural Africa through their partner, Pump Aid. More than 1.25 million people now have access to safe water and basic sanitation in some of the most vulnerable areas of Africa as a direct result of their work together. Pump Aid has been delivering sustainable water solutions across 8,500 communities in rural sub-Saharan Africa. In Malawi alone they have established more than 3,200 pumps throughout the country, serving 400,000 people every day.

As a result of their work, more children are in school and fewer people have water-borne illnesses and malnutrition, “We are proud that our product can change and save lives, and so very excited to continue our vision for a hydrated and healthy planet.”
