Marital cheating has been a hot topic since the antics of Pro Golfer Tiger Woods, SC Governor Mark Sanford, and NC Presidential hopeful John Edwards hit the news. Mrs. Woods appears to have decided to stay, while Mrs. Sanford and Mrs. Edwards have decided to leave. Some news stories have highlighted other big name wives who have stayed in their marriages (e.g., Hilary Clinton). A recent radio listener poll indicated that listeners are interested in discussing the topic of staying in a marriage after a spouse has cheated. While it appears that people know how to leave, many are interested in talking about how to stay. Marital research indicates that infidelity does not have to kill a marriage; that it can, in fact, be a springboard to rebuilding and strengthening a marriage (e.g., one that was unsatisfying prior to the affair). Join The Ugly Facts With Dr. Jenn as we examine this ugly side of married life, looking for the rainbow after the hailstorm.
