Our guests this morning are Mike Grady and Rick Hollander of South Bay Country.

Mike is the band founder and rhythm guitarist for South Bay Country. He was raised in Cypress, California during the 60's and 70's during what was then a ‘country’ lifestyle.

He grew up around rodeos, worked part-time at the local stables and learned a little riding and roping in addition to playing country music.

In August 2012, he decided to return to his roots and form a country music band right here in the South Bay. He hunted up professional musicians that shared his passion and with a lot of hard work, dedication and numerous hours in the studio, formed South Bay Country.

Mike is all about bringing back live country music to the South Bay!

Rick Hollander was born in Long Beach, California and he’s been performing on the regional and national scene for over 30 thirty years. Rick is a multi-instrumentalist, playing the bass, guitar, mandolin, and tenor banjo and his bands have received air play on local radio stations KROQ, KXLU and KNAC.

Music Connection Magazine described Rick's high energy stage performance "like a super ball on a highway" and "Hollander slaps his bass like a mad man with more fingers than he should possess."

Bam Magazine referred to Rick as a "six-string monster" demonstrating his vast musical vocabulary from a "vicious thumb-slapping style" to "unbelievable two-handed tapping" chord work.

This is going to be a foot-stompin’ show!
