Off to the Races Radio powered by The Racing Biz returned Saturday, October 1 with an action-packed one hour program.

This week's show featured visits from Hall of Fame jockey Mike Smith and upcoming trainer Brittany Russell, as well as our weekly harness feature, this week with Debbie Warnick of the Virginia Harness Horse Association.

Smith has ridden more than 5,600 winners, with purse earnings of more than $342 million. That includes horses like Arrogate, Zenyatta, Songbird, and Justify. Russell's strong barn includes near-millionaire Whereshetoldmetogo, graded stakes winner Wondrwherecraigis, and others.

Warnick, executive director of the VHHA, is also an owner and breeder of harness horses, and her husband Scott is a trainer.

And of course, legendary horseplayer Derby Bill Watson also joined the team.
