Sunday, June 19th, 2011 Grand Performances Presents Embers, A Jazz Opera In Poems.  Composer David Ornette Cherry pairs up with librettist Terry Wolverton for a concert reading of a jazz opera that fuses world music, hip hop grooves, song and spoken word.  Directed by Michael John Garces, Embers spins an unforgettable tale of forgiveness and redemption. 

This edition of The Pulse highlights this season's Grand Performances.  You will hear music of some of the acts that will grace the stage this summer.  Also, President of The Light Bringer Project, Thomas Coston, visits The Pulse to talk about The Annual Pasadena Chalk Festival.
