Veteran Gospel DJ, Sound and Broadcast Engineer, Darnell Forde also known as “PsalmS 150 DJ” will receive the 2008 Presidents Award for his outstanding contribution towards the advancement and development of Caribbean Gospel Music. PsalmS has been a champion and promoter of Caribbean Gospel for over twenty years, getting his start as an electronics and sound technician in the eighties in his homeland of Trinidad & Tobago. Over the years PsalmS has successfully launched and hosted several Caribbean Gospel radio shows, the most recent being “Righteous Riddims” on KSON AM1240 - ”The Soul of San Diego” where he also serves as the stations General Manager. PsalmS truly possess a servant’s heart, working tirelessly behind the scenes over the years, investing countless hours of his time and thousands of his personal funds to stage concert events in San Diego. He generously does his part to provide a platform of exposure for Caribbean Gospel Artists on the West Coast. According to Marlin Awards President, Kevin Harris proclaimed, when the time came to decide who would receive this year’s Presidents Award, “PsalmS 150 DJ” was a natural choice. “We have been following PsalmS’ ministry and career for sometime now and admire not only his personal commitment to Christ but also his untamed passion for Caribbean Gospel.
