I don’t need an education now, ‘Cause I’m going to be rich. I’m going to be a rapper. Though you think my life is in a “ditch”. A hole, that has been dug for me, And a nice one, yes in deed. Dug for me by some klan white men, Who want to control all young Black seeds. Many people are trying to tell me now, That this hole will be quite large. But with all the money I’ll be throwing away. It’ll feel like, I’m the one in charge. So what, if I have to “dis” my people? So what, if I have to, “sell my soul”? God ain’t got enough money, for me, And from what I see, the devil is way more bold. I tried to do things, in the right way, And it can make you feel real good. But at the end of every single day, I see my “crappy” neighborhood. I say, “Black folks are the problem now”, Though it’s mostly white folks, that own the land. And whites did kill a couple of brothers, That I once saw, that took a stand. I’m tired of learning about rich, white guys, But Black history really sucks. It don’t get a Black man any money, Gangster rapping, “gets you those bucks”. But then again I can remember, Some of those Black folks that they said. Did a bunch of “cool type stuff”, And some how, they got ahead. This woman named Madam something, And some Black guy made the light. And in music, Barry somebody, In Detroit, I think that’s right? I can’t quite remember all those names, But I think they did some good. They say they went back, and did some things, For Blacks, in their old neighborhoods. I’ve been rapping for about ten years, in town, But I’m still waiting to get my shot. I guess I could be doing something, right now, With the other talents, that I’ve got.
