I will have the privilege to interview Tommie Brewster. Tommie lives in Auckland New Zealand and she is looking to come to the United States to perform for her American fans. She has been on the show before because I like her drive and ambition. She is a wonderful person and a creative, talented person. Plus she has a great British accent. You’d want to listen to her all day too. Tommie began her musical life before the age of 4, playing piano and later several other instruments. She graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in London where she had begun a life long love affair with the works of Frederic Chopin! However, musical influences at home were many forms from jazz to ragtime, blues to rock, reggae to swing. It was the blues that spoke loudest to Tommie's heart and soul. It was her dream to write, perform, arrange, record and produce her own distinctive music and this has now been achieved. All musicians absorb so many influences, but Tommie does not knowingly imitate, replicate or emulate anyone. Tommie's music is in many different styles, is just what it is. She was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in the USA in July 2010 as Ambassador to New Zealand. Tommie is the only Blues Indie artist to be featured on The Jazz Network Worldwide. She was awarded the Inaugural Independent Artist Honor 2010 by Global Thunda Network in Australia. She has been nominated for a Radio Grammy on GHP Radio 2010. She is now heard on Radio in 130 countries of the world. She also has her own internet radio show on WomensRadio . Tommie wrote to me on Facebook today and told me, “I love interviewing the musicians but of course I'm also interviewing non-musicians too. The focus of my show is people who inspire me in some way, either with their music or their life or both.” So join us and speak to Tommie and myself for a very interesting show. I will also be playing some of her music such as Earth Cry and more. Find Tommie Brewster at www.tommiebrewster.com
