Blake Edwards' 1982 musical comedy VICTOR VICTORIA was probably a groundbreaker to no one but me. Other films had previously featured women exploring and expanding their place in a male driven world, and men exploring and expanding themselves in womens' clothing, as well numerous other themes that your average 12 year old 6th grader tended not to actively pursue. When I plunked down my $1.50 for a ticket, I was unaware of any of these earlier films, and thus had my own world expanded over the next 132 minutes. This is the story of one matinee on a Sunday afternoon...
