Join us on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. (CST) for our showcase featuring author Catherine  McGuinness.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Catherine graduated with a BA in English Literature from Fordham College.  Building a career in executive recruiting from London to New York and ultimately Austin, TX, her work experience spans global executive search firm Heidrick & Struggles and F50 company Dell Inc.  Catherine’s New York City roots coupled with her corporate human resources background offer a unique perspective through which to view the decisions that drive executive hires and fires, captured succinctly in the satire, Emperors' Clothes. Catherine currently resides in Austin, TX with her  husband, daughter and two dogs.  She remains active in executive recruiting through her partnership with the boutique executive search firm, Preod Corporation.  And, she's encouraging Emperors' Clothes character Sal Scruci's leadership attributes in her second novel, The Juice.

Catherine McGuinness, is a recovering human resources manager. The novel Emperors' Clothes is her attempt to reconcile with those downtrodden by heavy-handed HR initiatives, shed light on the injustices of evolving compensation practices, and, at long last, reveal the secret formulas employed to keep natural talent restrained while incompetents are promoted.

And, like any good self-improvement program, the first step is admitting you have a problem...
