Combat Corner #35: So Much Show, So Little Time

Oh boy. Turns out when you take off for a week, the world of combat sports does not in fact take off with you. Between TNA sale rumors still floating around, the retirement of a UFC legend, huge NXT signings and big WWE returns, there wasn't a dull or slow news day this week and we here at the Combat Corner are prepared to talk about all of it with you.

We'll start with NXT, which is about to heat up as both ROH's Roderick Strong and former Divas champion Mickie James have both been announced to have signed with the company. 

What or rather who's next on our agenda? Why its the big Goldberg announcement of course. Headed to Raw this Monday to address Brock Lesnar's challenge, we'll talk about the upcoming Survivor Series match between the two megastars and why it might actually not be a total trainwreck this time around. Staying with Survivor Series, Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon announced three traditional 5 on 5s for this year's big 30th anniversary show. Find out who we think will represent their respective brands in the women's, men's and tag team matches.

Also, we'll talk about what happened at No Mercy as Dolph Ziggler fought for his career, Becky Lynch's injury forced a title match postponement and AJ Styles defended his championship in a huge triple threat. And speaking of PPVs, we'll talk about Hell in a Cell which will feature Charlotte taking on Sasha Banks in the structure and could very well even main event the whole show.

And if we somehow wind up to find some extra time, we'll move to the six-sided ring to talk all things TNA including the latest news surrounding a possible sale including the name of a new potential buyer, Billy Corgan and Dixie Carter's all but deteriorated relationship, and the plans for an episode entirely taped from the Hardy compound.
