Dr. Saniyyah Mayo has cultivated a relationship with the written word since a haiku poetry assignment in fifth grade. Her strong interest in the social sciences led to a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and working with at-risk youth. These opportunities exposed her to the complexities of how repeated cycles of behavior can have on an individual’s psyche, even if they don’t realize it. Recognizing the recurring social and psychological problems, she expanded her expertise in Clinical Psychology (with a focus on marriage and family therapy), for which she received a Master’s degree. This provided her with a solid theoretical ground to pen “Identifying & Breaking the Cycle.” Her self-published book focuses on how generational cycles can have an affect on an individual’s life even when they don’t realize it. Saniyyah recently completed a book titled, “Transition of a Butterfly,’ and is currently shopping her manuscript around as well as her screenplay “Misled.” She is a Psychotherapist, Motivational Speaker, Author, and Writer. Saniyyah has recently started her own online talk show, “Talk with Saniyyah.” She organized a women empowerment seminar where she served as the keynote speaker in July of 2016, focusing on women and young girls loving themselves. Saniyyah kicked off a Girl’s Gossip and Women Network campaign in the spring of 2016 that touched young girls and women around the U.S. She is currently creating workshops that focus on individuals finding their passion so that they may pursue their purpose. The latest accolade to add to her name is Doctor. She was recently presented with an honorary doctorate of Philosophy in humanities. Dr. Saniyyah Mayo is talented in many areas and inspires many with her gift of provoking thought to change lives.
