Mallory Finne, Director of the summer program for Berkshire Hills Music Academy in Massachusetts  joined Lon January 28, 2015 to explain their summer program this year.  Berkshire Hills is a learning community enrolling young people ages 18-30 with learning or developmental disabilities. The key requirement is for the applicant to have a love of music and a willingness to develop that interest through participating in music productions.  They have found that music is a powerful healing and personal growth tool for these young people.  Mallory explained that the summer program allows students to learn if the Berkshire Hills approach is appropriate for them, while having many recreational opportunities associated with most summer camps.
