We can develop Bodhicitta by using a method called "exchanging self with others." It has been said that we cannot really understand others until we have "walked a mile in their shoes." The method of exchanging self with others teaches how to stand in the shoes of all others. We can use this method to transform our limited self-cherishing into the vast form of cherishing everyone to the same degree we cherish ourselves. This method of developing love for our neighbors as we love ourselves is a very powerful method for developing Bodhicitta.

In the second half of the show, the singer/songwriter, David Smith will be the guest. David Smith has been writing, recording and performing music and practicing the dharma for 17 years. He’s in the process of becoming a licensed drug and alcohol abuse counselor and mindfulness meditation instructor. He works with youth at an addiction treatment center and is heavily involved with music in Nashville, Tennessee.
