Black United Front Episode #3

Tonight's show we will discuss ideology.  More specifically, the ideology of this show.  This ideology is Garveyism.  Garveyism is an almost perfect blend of Black Nationalism and Pan Africanism.  Also, Garveyism gives direction to the movement.

When saying ideology, I mean using the basic definitions not an overall plan of action.  We can not follow the exact same plans that Marcus Mosiah Garvey, Jr. used almost 100 years ago but his ideas and writings gives us:

1. A system of ideas and ideals that form the basis of economic or political policy.

2. The ideas and manner of thinking of a group, social class, or individual.

So in using Garveyism as an ideology, it means using these ideals: (1) race first, (2) self-reliance, and (3) nationhood.  It is simple and just needs to be put in a package that is easily understood and followed by the masses.

With regard to equating Garveyism to Zionism, we have to look out how the plan detailed by Theodor Herzl in 1896 in broad terms was manifested into the physical form some 50 years later and 43 years after his death.  What did the Jews do to bring an idea into the physical form?  No matter how you personally feel about Jewish people or Zionism, it is a must that you study what they accomplished.

So tonight we will look at Garveyism and Zionism and how we can use that to put together an action plan that is easily embraced by the masses.

Let's Ride. It's Nation Time.
